By David Catanese July 10, 2012 This is the moment Claire McCaskill has been waiting for. The muddled three-way Republican primary for Missouri’s Senate seat is entering a final four-week sprint that’s expected to feature a ferocious intraparty food fight. Or at least that’s what the first-term Democratic incumbent-turned-underdog is betting on. Trailing in the [...]

Reading a letter to the editor in the St. Louis Post Dispatch I caught this one. Wish I had written it myself. Can’t we heed the warning? Ultra-conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer is a trained psychiatrist, which explains his most recent psychobabble regarding the president’s ability as commander in chief (“Obama: the drone warrior,” June 3). Well, he didn’t take my advice and yet his numbers are relatively unchanged, perhaps a slight improvement. I stand by my advice and suggest that his numbers would be remarkably higher [...]

Midterm elections are almost always difficult for the party in charge but...2010 is a whopper. President Obama deserves most of the responsibility too. I agree with Truman. The buck stops there. Given the financial crisis he inherited and near depression like recession, I am not sure you take on fundamental healthcare reform at all. The banking industry had to come first, followed by the economy. Within that framework he could have interjected both energy, housing and healthcare as they are all central and critical to our entire economy.
